Efficiency Gives You More Than You Pay For

Long-term, hidden costs are hard to see when you’re choosing a technology. As you assess the expected results of the solution, also anticipate how much burden or relief the solution adds to your company’s capacity. The most efficient solutions are ones that free up time for everyone in your company, not just the end user.

DocuSign… How Do I Use Thee? Let Me Count The Ways

Imagine how many more ways you could make use of it! E-signing saves time because you can have all the parties sign within the same day or hour via email. E-signature is easier because there is no printing, faxing, mailing, scanning or filing of paper. And e-signed documents are better because all signatures are verified, tracked and monitored so you know who has and has not signed.

Why You Shouldn’t Use E-Signature

If you’ve read any of my previous articles about e-signature then you’d know that I’m a huge fan of e-signing. But being a fan isn’t a sane reason for you to agree with me. Instead, I’ll show you the other side of the argument and the reasons why you shouldn’t use e-signature just yet.

I Love Your Printing Policy

You work hard to capture data and put it into a form or application. Then you print it. What happens next? Who knows. Seriously, you can’t know where your data and paper is once it’s printed. If you hand it off to another person you have no insight as to what’s happening with it. That’s a phenomenal waste of time and leaves you in the dark, plus you have no control over your data.

The Value of E-Signature

Consider this… Saving only 25% of $75 per transaction is worth $18.75. That conservative cost savings alone is worth far more than the cost of implementing and operating an efficient sales order process with e-signature.

How Do You E-Sign Forms?

To e-sign forms start by designing the ideal process. Build out your process workflow with the form as an integral electronic component that is completed prior to signing, and not before the form is approved as it is done in the paper world. Then select a signature solution that can pull your final approved forms into the signature process or ’signing ceremony’. Finally, make sure that your user experience, especially at the signature stage, is as easy as clicking a button – eliminate redundant data entry, document setup or technical steps that hinder adoption of your final solution.

Why E-Signature Isn’t A Strategy: It’s An Essential Tool

If you think about it, most sales order processes are usually done in the wrong order: the order is signed and placed BEFORE it’s been approved. What if you could approve the order before you sign it? With e-signature seamlessly integrated into your forms automation you can be 95% more efficient, 95% more accurate and even increase the number of orders that get fulfilled because they are done rapidly (e.g. customers won’t go find a different vendor while waiting for you to approve your own order!).

“These Come From Trees” Blog

I like this blog because it points out the many ways in which everyday consumption leads to mass waste. While the burger joint they refer to (In-N-Out) is a West Coast habit and clearly one of the best burgers you can get, I do see the waste that occurs from simply taking more napkins than you need.

The Truth About The Paperless Office

There is a way to go paperless with the last 20% of your process: assess your cost of paper. Paper is costing you printing, handling, shipping, errors, storage and the cost of labor. If you were to automate those pieces of paper then you’ll convert a fixed cost of doing business (i.e. paperwork) into a variable cost that can be mostly eliminated.
