I can’t imagine what we all would have lost if Steve simply kicked back and lived off his wealth. While sad that we’ve lost a great hero of our time, I’m equally happy and grateful that Steve Jobs shared his true wealth with everyone. He showed me the value of being a leader, a visionary and never giving up.

Here’s a really great article on common mistakes people make when looking for a job. One thing this article mentions is that finding a job is taking longer now than in times when the economy is booming but I still believe you can find a good job faster.
Every day I asked myself the question: “What am I learning today that is going to help me start and run my business tomorrow?”. That simple question helped frame my approach to my jobs and helped me look past each day’s challenges towards my goal.
If you choose to pursue your career then you’ll be constantly learning new ways to make your job better and more rewarding, which naturally results in effectiveness and efficiency. If you choose to pursue your life and not your career, then you’ll find that your focus at work tends to be sharp and decisive so you can ensure you have as much time off as possible.
The handicap for this person is not letting their work talk for itself. If this type of person were to consistently demonstrate their abilities and THEN ask for the raise, they become virtually unstoppable in their career growth.
